Duchess Riona Grethwyn has kept the duchy prosperous by walking a careful line between encouraging innovation and managing unstable trade relationships with goblin engineers and the Machinist Cartel. Grethwyn's wealth is real, but its dependencies are dangerous.

The duchy imports raw ore, specialized goblin components, and unrefined mechanical cores. It exports finished weapons, siege engines, advanced clockwork devices, and industrial goods that make the rest of Caldenar pay attention.
